Reiki is a gentle Japanese energy-healing practice that is often experienced as deeply relaxing and restorative.
During a Reiki session, you remain fully clothed on a massage table and may receive light touch or hands-off energy work, depending on your comfort level. You can also choose to remain seated with the focus on head, shoulders and arms.
Everyone experiences Reiki differently. You may notice warmth, tingling, a feeling of deep relaxation, emotions, imagery, or simply a sense of quiet and peace.
There is no right or wrong way to experience Reiki.

What to expect
Your session can begin with a conversation about what you are looking for and how you’re feeling that day or you may just want to start. It’s up to you. I will explain that the reiki energy knows where to go. I am simply the practitioner that reiki works through.
You then settle comfortably while I guide you through the session. I work intuitively, allowing the session to unfold according to what feels appropriate for you.
My intention is to provide a peaceful, supportive environment where you can step away from the noise of everyday life and reconnect with yourself.
Your reiki experience can be combined with:
Sound Healing
Crystal singing bowls and sound can be incorporated into a session to create an immersive, meditative experience.
Guided Meditation
Gentle meditation can help you settle into the present moment and become more aware of your body and inner experience.
Distance Reiki
Reiki can also be offered remotely. Distance sessions provide an opportunity to create a quiet, intentional space for yourself from wherever you are. We set up a time when you will lie down and listen to soft music or nature sounds and then I begin sending the reiki. We can connect either by email, phone, text or zoom before and/or after your session. Your choice. Many people like a quick text to confirm the start time and follow up within the next day or two to discuss what they experienced during the session and how they are integrating the energies.
A note about Reiki
Reiki is a complementary wellness practice and is not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure medical conditions or to replace medical or mental-health care. I do not call myself a healer even though that is what you might experience. You are your own healer. I am attuned to the reiki energy that works through me as its conduit.
If you’re curious about Reiki or sound healing or want something different to do with a group, but aren’t sure what type of session is right for you, please reach out. We can talk about what you’re looking for and find an approach that feels comfortable.
